I’m Maria Liebmann, lead teacher and director of Montessori Escuela. Located in Belmont, Massachusetts, our Montessori preschool provides a combination of primary Montessori education and Spanish Immersion for children 2.5 to 6 years of age.
Montessori Escuela affords children the opportunity to work in a private Montessori preschool group setting with all the comforts of a home environment, allowing for an easy transition to kindergarten. Additionally, students receive a complete Montessori preschool education in Spanish, providing your child with the basis for language proficiency as well as valuable communication skills.
In our “Casa de Niños,” we accept 10 students each academic year in order to provide all our students with the guidance and nurturing support needed at this young age of discovery. Our school day runs five mornings per week, three hours each day, from 9 am to 12:00 pm. We are currently accepting applications for the upcoming 2016-2017 academic year. (If we cannot accommodate your child for the upcoming school year, his or her name will be added to our waiting list.) Preference is given to siblings of currently enrolled students.
We accept students from the following towns, including but not limited to: Arlington, Belmont, Cambridge, Lexington, Newton, Somerville, and Watertown. If you believe that our small class size, home-based setting, and Spanish language learning sounds like the right fit for your child, please call to schedule a visit and download the enrollment forms (under the Admissions tab above). For additional information or specific questions, please feel free to call me directly at 508-454-0631. We look forward to hearing from you soon. ¡Muchas Gracias!

“We had no idea that in addition to finding a loving and compassionate caregiver, we had also found a woman passionate about preschool education who treats our daughter as if she is her own. And we couldn’t be happier. At the tender age of 2 my daughter, Sadie, now recognizes Maria’s street as we turn onto it and cannot wait to get inside. She adores Maria and she loves the structured day that has been set up for her and the space she is given to explore and learn. Sadie loves it so much that we’ve taken to calling Maria’s house “Camp Liebmann” because she has so much fun there. Her day is filled with activities and learning and cuddles and love. In turn, my day is filled with ease knowing that Sadie is having fun and being taken care of by someone with such a great understanding of how toddlers learn and play. I love seeing all of the new things that Sadie learns from Maria: from learning to spin in music class to enjoying Spinach smoothies (who knew?) and figuring out how to thread a wooden bead onto a string (it’s a big deal when you’re 1). It’s especially fun hearing Maria, who is bilingual, ask Sadie what a tiger says in Spanish and hearing her answer with a “ROAR!”
Maria’s positive energy, patience and tenderness with my Sadie has made me feel like the luckiest Mom in the world. I recommend her, without hesitation, to anyone who asks. We love Camp Liebmann!!”
